Enabling your digital health innovation goals

In a time of rising costs, shrinking budgets, and fewer staff, healthcare organizations are searching for innovative ways to accomplish more with less resources – while optimizing processes along the way.

In our recent webinar Unlock efficiency and innovation: Explore Rhapsody solution enhancements, we discussed a modern approach to managing healthcare data.

Listen to the recording to learn more about:

  • How a digital health enablement platform helps bridge the gap between data sources and digital health apps
  • How organizations can boost efficiency with integration, identity, and semantic solutions
  • Recent enhancements to Rhapsody solutions that support health equity, drive technical efficiencies, and improve data visualization

How healthcare organizations can boost efficiency

Between budget requirements and staffing shortages, healthcare organizations of all shapes and sizes are looking for ways to be more efficient. Health tech companies are seeking ways to boost their bottom line, and healthcare providers are working to positively impact the cost of care and enhance patient experiences.

Each composable solution of Rhapsody Digital Health Enablement Platform empowers healthcare organizations to be more efficient – saving time and resources.

With Rhapsody integration solutions, customers can see up to $100,000 per year (or more!) in cost savings with faster interface development and process improvements.

Other customers have eliminated the time spent after hours monitoring and maintaining integrations and consolidated dashboards into a single, user-friendly interface.

Did you know that data scientists spend up to 80% of their time manually cleansing data? With Rhapsody Semantic, data scientists can get that time back and reallocate it to higher value work.

With Rhapsody identity solutions, organizations are reducing costs by 90% or more by resolving duplicate patient records.

What is a digital health enablement platform?

A digital health enablement platform bridges the gap between healthcare providers and healthcare technology builders. There are numerous systems of records for provider organizations, including electronic health records (EHRs), lab information system (LIS), enterprise resource planning (ERP), claim systems, and more.

To enhance the consumer or patient experience and reduce clinician burnout, providers are deploying a variety of digital health apps. These apps rely on data from various sources and require seamless bidirectional data exchange along with data transformation to make it usable.

This is complex, time-consuming, and resource-intensive work. Rhapsody Digital Health Enablement Platform, made of composable interoperability solutions, connects, cleans, and classifies data to accelerate adoption of digital health innovation.

Identity is one of the composable solutions of Rhapsody Digital Health Enablement Platform and is a foundational piece of interoperability.

Why identity data management is foundational to healthcare data exchange

There’s a lot of data being created that must be connected across the healthcare enterprise and broader ecosystem. Around 30% of the world’s data volume comes from the healthcare industry.

All of this data has enormous potential, as long as it’s data you can trust.

Having high-quality data that you can trust is foundational to healthcare data exchange. Before connecting and exchanging this data, you need to first make sure it is attributed to the right person. This isn’t as easy as it may sound.

The challenges of managing identity data

If you’re only dealing with a few dozen patient records, manually resolving duplicate records and keeping your data clean may seem manageable at first. But what if you have plans to scale? What if you are dealing with thousands (or millions) of records?

No matter where you sit in the healthcare space, you’ll need an efficient, reliable, and scalable way to manage your identity data.

For healthcare providers, if data is not connected to the right person there can be negative impacts on clinical decision making — affecting the quality of care.

In a value-based care model, duplicate patient records can increase the cost of care. Multiple patient records can mean duplicate or unnecessary tests are being ordered for the same person. Across healthcare delivery, EMPIs enhance patient engagement and increase quality of care.

Up to 90% of denied claims are due to incorrect or missing data. Using a best of breed EMPI to resolve duplicate records leads to more approved claims.

For health tech organizations, solving identity management problems on your own takes time away from product innovation and development. Creating additional value for customers becomes more difficult when you are trying to solve other problems that may be outside your area of expertise – or you simply would rather outsource.

Rhapsody passes along the value of a best in breed EMPI to other organizations so they can stay laser focused on their goals.

How Rhapsody is supporting healthcare organizations with identity data management

In the latest release of Rhapsody EMPI, we’ve focused on enhancements that drive efficiency for healthcare organizations.

Rhapsody EMPI supports health equity

Health equity is a key initiative across healthcare. One roadblock organizations face is gathering the right data and connecting it to the right person.

With Rhapsody EMPI, we are taking SDOH data, associating it to the right person and connecting it to where they live. This allows it to easily be disseminated across the healthcare ecosystem so that it can be used wherever it is needed to help prioritize care.

Boosting technical and operational efficiency with Rhapsody

To boost technical efficiency, we’ve worked on containerization of our products which simplifies scaling, updating, and patching processes.

We’ve also introduced a new dashboard within Rhapsody EMPI that gives you insight into the state of your data across the enterprise. This visualizes the value the EMPI is providing to your organization. You can easily see trends in the data, which can help you figure out what your team should prioritize or focus on next, increasing operational efficiency.

Automating tasks through AI with Rhapsody Autopilot

Rhapsody Autopilot is the latest enhancement for Rhapsody EMPI. Rhapsody Autopilot uses machine learning to automate resolution of data quality tasks. This mirrors human decision making to automate time-consuming manual tasks that would normally be completed by humans.

Rhapsody Autopilot is trained on your data to match your guidelines, achieving consistent decisions 98% of the time (compared to a rate of 72-92% for humans). Through testing, we’ve evaluated over 2 million records in less than 80 minutes. This would take a human over 50,000 hours to complete.

By utilizing AI, we can take much of the redundant work off your plate so you can focus on more difficult tasks.
