The first annual ViVE conference kicked off today from sunny Miami Beach, and this New Englander was only all too happy to thaw out from the chilly Northeast winter and warm up with the latest in healthcare technology and leadership.

View from the floor

The exhibit hall at ViVE is all about software solutions for healthcare. In addition to the usual buffet of booths and exhibitors, ViVE is also hosting an interoperability showcase, called InteropNOW.

At the InteropNOW pavilion, vendors are placed into groups and are assigned case studies for hypothetical customers with specific interoperability needs. Each vendor presents their solutions and how they align with the hypothetical customer in the case study. Each vendor should build or layer their offerings on top of the vendors before them. We spoke about Envoy, our fully managed integration offering and how our partner network is well-suited to addressing Marlin Health’s need for normalization.

Vendors in the InteropNOW! Pavilion at ViVE2022 illustrate how their solution interoperates with others, using hypothetical case studies.

One thing we learned

We listened in on a cybersecurity panel called Response and Recovery: Cybersecurity Vulnerability Management.

An insight from one of the panelists – Dr. Thomas Graham, CISO at CinergisTek – really got us thinking. He posed, when running tabletop security exercises, what if your CISO is the malignant actor? A true test of how mature and resilient your policies, processes, and procedures are is a scenario where the senior-most security officer at your organization is the source of a breach. This insight lines up well with how we think about security around our fully managed Envoy offering.

Happenings at the booth

One of the more interesting conversations we had was with Adam Block, PhD, who is the Founder and Principal of Charm Economics. Adam partners with digital health companies to model ROI and impact of their offerings, enabling them to sell more effectively. We spent a lot of time talking about value prop and impact, as increasing time to market and boosting ROI are key pillars of Rhapsody’s portfolio of cloud integration offerings.

Shelley Wehmeyer, Rhapsody product marketing director, meets with a ViVE2022 attendee in the IneropNOW! pavilion.
