IHE USA Connectathon 2015, Day 1 Recap

January 27, 2015

The 17th annual IHE North American Connectathon is currently underway at the Cleveland Convention Center at HIMSS Innovation Center. The event will last the full week of Jan. 26-30.

The annual IHE Connectathon brings together hundreds of health IT professionals representing the industry’s leading IT vendors who work to demonstrate their applications can work together to effectively exchange health data. Participants choose to qualify, or test, for specific IHE Integration Profiles, which provide a data programming framework organizations use to exchange health data.

Our very own Ben Levy was interviewed by the IHE USA team to provide a recap of Day 1 activities:

Ben said: “The IHE USA Connectathon is a great opportunity to test with vendors that we see in a real world competitive environment. But here (at the Connectathon) it’s not competitive, so it’s a place to do real-world testing in an environment where its safe to fail.”

Ben is a member of the IHE International ITI Technical Committee.

Current update: The Corepoint Health team, which consists of of Ben, Monica Osegueda and Christopher Stehno, successfully used Corepoint Integration Engine, version 6.0, to test for and pass all 16 tests attempted on Day 1.

One new test for 2015 is the Healthcare Provider Directory (HDP) Consumer criteria. The HDP testing involves securely accessing a provider directory from the connected community, which is extremely helpful for customers who need to send summary of care documents, lab results, or other pertinent data to an external provider.

Look for our complete Connectathon recap next week. (Sign up to get our blog posts delivered to your inbox on the top right corner of this page.) In the meantime, follow @IHE_USA on Twitter for recaps throughout the event.

The Corepoint Health team is excited to officially test for this year’s criteria so we can continue to prove the extended capabilities of Corepoint Integration Engine.
