Boston Technology’s health tech trends to watch in 2017

Balanced Approach Matrix
From Boston Technology:

2017 is almost upon us. And with it brings the predictions and expectations of the trends that may have significant impact on the industry in the next four quarters. And, healthcare in 2017 is no different.

There are many innovative and exciting technology trends on the horizon – some new and some newly maturing that promise to leave an impression on healthcare delivery as well as clinical research in the coming year and beyond. Here are 5 trends Boston Technology thinks have traction…

Precision Medicine
Cognitive Computing
Health Wearables
Blockchain
Healthcare Bots

Very interesting list from BTC. Keeping in mind that BTC’s list is discussing trends – and not current approaches for the most part – I think this list is a great start.

How will changes in the industry impact or influence these trends? Will a repeal or modification of the Affordable Care Act/Obamacare change the outlook? What about a reduction in the rate of hospital consolidation? That surely would affect the available resources available to learn and implement the technology needed for the success of each of these trends.

Each of those predictions deserves our attention as healthcare continues to adopt newer technologies to help patients become better connected.

One thing that will remain a priority is, without a doubt, health data interoperability. Without the data, no trend involving patient data will function. And that’s one are where our patients and our products will continue to pursue with passion.
