University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Health System
UAB Health System had a legacy integration engine that had been deprecated by the vendor and was not receiving upgrades or support. This forced the UAB Health System to go to market to find a replacement that is intuitive and easy to use to allow for quick migration and upskilling of users.
Before the RWJBarnabas Health merger began, both Robert Wood Johnson Health System and Barnabas Health independently chose Rhapsody to replace their legacy systems. In the case of Barnabas Health, the network had been utilizing a legacy eGate integration engine before deciding to put a request for proposal (RFP) to the market.
Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals
Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust were formed in April 2002 following the merger of Sandwell Healthcare NHS Trust and City Hospital NHS Trust. With the transfer of Sandwell’s community health services in the April 2011, the Trust now provides a wide range of acute and community services to a population of 540,000. These services are carried out from a number of sites, including the General Hospital in West Bromwich, City Hospital in Birmingham, Rowley Regis Community Hospital and Leasowes Intermediate Care Centre.
