The Challenge
Oregon Health Authority needed to provide timely and efficient receipt of electronic laboratory reports to Public Health disease surveillance programs but inconsistent message formats from multiple sources via multiple transport methods and limited IT infrastructure proved problematic. The Authority also had barriers regarding Meaningful Use test message validation and up-to-date syndromic surveillance data which needed to be addressed.
